Cleaners’ backache will become a thing of the past at the Endeavour Foundation Industries service in Kingaroy, known as Kingaroy Kitchen, thanks to a major donation from The Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Board of Benevolence.
Kingaroy Kitchen – which produces an array of top quality country-style foods including cakes, biscuits and chutneys - will receive an electric floor scrubber and industrial vacuum cleaner worth several thousand dollars at 11am this Friday 20th January. The donation will also pay for a range of shelving at the site.
The Worshipful Master of Kingaroy Masonic Lodge, Malcolm Clifford, is also a member of the Lions and will be making the official handover on Friday. Mr Clifford used to be the chairman of the local Endeavour Foundation sub-branch and was on the committee when Kingaroy Kitchen was built.
“We are thrilled to be helping Endeavour Foundation after some fantastic combined fundraising between the groups,” Mr Clifford said.
“The Lions Club helped to establish Endeavour Foundation in Kingaroy and we are proud of our role in the history of such an important organisation.”
The manager of Kingaroy Kitchen, Hazel Patterson, is delighted with such a donation.
“We can’t thank the Lions and the Masonic Lodge enough,” she said.
“This is incredibly generous and everyone at Kingaroy Kitchen is excited about the new equipment and shelving.”
Profits from Endeavour Foundation Industries Kingaroy Kitchen go towards supporting people with a disability.
Malcolm Clifford will hand over the equipment this Friday 20th January at 11am at Kingaroy Kitchen, 17 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy.
