To give Townsville residents the chance to take part in one of Australia’s greatest annual adventures, the team behind the Great Endeavour Car Rally today visited town to show locals what the rally is all about.
A rally team from Townsville joined added to the buzz, bringing their modified rally car to The Strand on Wednesday morning to show off their wheels and to tell legendary stories from rallies gone by. There was also be a sausage sizzle to help raise money for the Townsville team.
The rally car then went to the Endeavour Foundation Business Service on Bayswater road where Endeavour Foundation supported employees had a chance to talk to the rally team.
Next year’s Great Endeavour Rally and Super Endeavour Rally will take place in July, but those thinking about entering need to do so now, to be ready for one of the biggest rally adventures on the calendar.
2012 will be the 25th anniversary of the Great Endeavour Rally. The route will take teams from Toowoomba, to the Gulf of Carpentaria and back to Yeppoon through some of the wildest country in Australia.
All the money raised from the rally helps Endeavour Foundation to support more than 3350 people with a disability to live an ordinary life, throughout QLD and in NSW.
