It was just another day for the supported employees at the Endeavour Foundation Industries in Ramsay Street, Toowoomba when who should arrive but four international golfers.
On the eve of the QPGA Championship at the City Golf Club, they took time-out from the driving-range to give a few lessons to Endeavour clients.
The clients had a chance to meet some golfing heroes, learn how to putt, and pass on a few tips of their own about working in the manufacturing industry.
The event formed part of the Queensland PGA Championship week as Endeavour is the charity of choice. This is a great honour in its 60th anniversary year.
Endeavour’s Events Manager, Sarah Dreaver, emphasised the importance of the partnership: “It’s vital that we have relationships with such a prestigious institution like the QPGA. And the City Golf Club has also been extremely accommodating. This is an exciting event for us and our clients. All support we receive helps the Endeavour Foundation to help those with a disability.”
Broc Greenhalgh of the QPGA agreed: “ The Queensland Professional Golfers Association and its members are happy to be touching all demographics in the community and especially the Endeavour Foundation clients. This is a very important relationship for us and we are pleased to be able to support Toowoomba and the whole of the Darling Downs region. We’re here for the QPGA Championship but this is not just about four rounds of golf. This is about being part of the fabric of society and playing our part in helping.”
Endeavour Foundation’s involvement with the QPGA is the latest in a number of events in Toowoomba in which Endeavour is a key player. The National Road Series cycling event, the Tour of Toowoomba, incorporating the Endeavour Challenge Community Ride, will be held in Toowoomba on Sunday June 19th.
