Aon volunteers take over in Apprentice-style retail challenge

Aon workers will go head-to-head in an Apprentice-style challenge at three Endeavour Foundation Recycled Clothing stores, where teams will compete against each other to increase sales, as part of the company’s Global Service Day.

Teams of Aon volunteers are taking part in the inaugural Retail Sales Challenge at Endeavour Foundation’s recycled clothing stores at Beenleigh, Stafford and Paddington, on Thursday, June 11th.

“Global Service Day is Aon’s annual day of volunteering when Aon colleagues devote thousands of hours of service to strengthen and improve communities around the world, and I am extremely pleased we are partnering with the Endeavour Foundation this year in Brisbane,” Aon Risk Solution’s Chief Executive Officer Lambros Lambrou said.

Aon Risk Solution’s Lead Client Director Robert Piunti will swap the office for the retail floor for a day, as he joins his team at the Stafford store to provide in-store customer service, drive sales, and do other jobs during the event.

“Like Endeavour Foundation, Aon's takes its social responsibility extremely seriously and we are thrilled to partner with such an outstanding leader in this space for the Aon Global Service day on the 11th of June 2015,” Mr Piunti said. “The team is really looking forward to working with Endeavour Foundation to empower results within the community and contributing to such a worthy cause.”

Their efforts are supporting people with a disability, through volunteering.

In the lead-up to the Retail Sales Challenge, Aon workers have been coming up with a wide variety of strategies so they can have an edge on competing teams.

An Aon volunteer at the Beenleigh store is setting up a virtual shop assistant with one person in the store on a phone and iPad, and a second person on a phone and iPad in the shopping centre opposite. Aon staff will then approach people in the centre to ask them what clothes or items that they’d like and then send the person in the Endeavour Foundation store to find it.

The team that achieves the largest percentage increase in sales will be declared the winners of the challenge - to be announced on Friday, June 12th.

“We are thrilled that Aon have decided to come on board for this fun, exciting event, where we expect they will drive sales and demonstrate how shopping with Endeavour Foundation enables the organisation to create opportunities for people with a disability,” the organisation’s Sales and Operations Manager Mick Gerrard said.

Endeavour Foundation operates boutique op-shops and labels stores which sell pre-loved and brand new clothing, to raise funds to create opportunities for people with a disability.
