SERVICE CLOSURE UPDATE: 25 MARCH 2020

Learning and Lifestyle (L&L) centres – Temporarily closing

As we follow public health guidelines to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are making changes to the way we operate for the safety of people we support. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all our Learning and Lifestyle (L&L) centres in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria until further notice. The last day of operation will be Friday 27 March 2020.

Community Access and In-Home Support services – Suspension until further notice

Following last week’s decision, we are also continuing to suspend the following services:

  • Supported Access to Community, Social & Recreational Activities
  • Supported Group Activities in the Community
  • In Home Support Services

We understand that these decisions present significant difficulties to the people we support and our employees. However, we believe that taking these measures now is in the best interest of long-term health and safety for everyone.

The team has identified customers who require emergency support and do not have access to alternative support options. If you have not heard from us by 3pm, Friday 27 March and believe that essential services are required please contact your site manager.

This decision has not been made lightly and the nature of the public health emergency means we have not been able to give you more prior notice.

We will continue to provide updates via this website as well as emails, letters and phone calls where required.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Operations Manager.

The health and wellbeing our customers, their families and our staff is of the highest priority at Endeavour Foundation, and now more than ever due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.

SERVICE SUSPENSION UPDATE: 20 MARCH 2020

Community Access and In-Home Support

Suspension of non-critical services

In response to the evolving COVID-19 situation, Endeavour Foundation has decided to temporarily suspend the delivery of all non-critical activities across our Community Access and In-Home Support services.

Our Learning and Lifestyle services at this stage will continue with altered programs to ensure safety and we will continue to review in accordance with government and health recommendations.

The following services will be temporarily suspended for 2 weeks from Monday 23rd March 2020:

  • Supported Access to Community, Social & Recreational Activities
  • Supported Group Activities in the Community
  • In-Home Support Services

This decision has not been made lightly but is aligned with the best Government health advice available at this time.

It is important to note that services will be maintained for all customers who require emergency day support and do not have access to alternative support options.

There are FAQs below with more information on our decision and the process behind it.

Service suspension FAQs

  • What changes are we making to Community and In-Home Services?

The following non-essential services will be temporarily suspended from Monday 23rd March 2020 and will be reviewed after 2 weeks:

    • Non-Essential Supported Access to Community, Social & Recreational Activities
    • Non-Essential Supported Group Activities in the Community
    • Non-Essential In-Home Support
  • Why are we introducing temporary suspension to non-critical Community and In-Home services?

We recognise these activities are essential for community and social inclusion. However, due to the COVID-19 safety precautions taking place around Australia, and in order to uphold social distancing practices and protect our customers, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend the delivery of these non-critical services.

  • What happens to our customers who were scheduled to receive these services?

    • All of the services being suspended have been determined as non-essential, and as such, customer safety continues to be at the forefront of our decision-making process.

    • Where delivery of a particular Community Access or In-Home Support service was identified as being essential, Endeavour Foundation will continue delivering these supports in a safe and practical way.

    • Where services are suspended, customers may remain in their homes or be supported by Informal Supports (e.g., family and/or friends) rather than be supported by our staff.

    • Our Learning and Lifestyle services at this stage will continue with altered programs to ensure safety and we will continue to review in accordance with government and health recommendations.

  • How did we decide what is an essential and non-essential service?

    • In order to determine the risk of reducing services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have completed an extensive and rigorous ‘Customer Impact Assessment’ for all Endeavour Foundation customers who use these services.
    • It is important to note that services will be maintained for all customers who require emergency day support and do not have access to alternative support options.
    • Our key priority across the COVID-19 pandemic is to ensure we can provide a safe support environment for people with disability, a safe work environment for our employees and to maintain high quality and safe service delivery.
