Christmas at Caboolture L&L to reflect the interests of people we support

15 November 2015

The following statement may be attributed to Endeavour Foundation’s State Business Manager Tony Vidler

“We are so appreciative of the Artisans Guild for generously providing a Christmas party with food and gifts to the people we support at the Caboolture L&L, for twenty years.

The people at Caboolture L&L are adults and as such we had been talking with the Guild – since last Christmas – about the option of holding a party without fairies, elves and Santa, which would be more in keeping with other adult Christmas celebrations.  This is a reflection of the way disability supports have evolved over time.

In October the Guild let us know that they did not want to proceed with the party on this basis.

While we understand they are disappointed and have chosen to not go ahead with the party, we will continue to celebrate the festive season with the people with a disability who we support.

We very much appreciate the support of the Guild for our Christmas party over the years.

A number of artists with a disability who we support in this region are involved with the Guild through the annual art show.

This remains a very important partnership for Endeavour Foundation and the opportunities to show their artworks to the public are highly valued by the artists with a disability who we support.

We remain fully committed to our partnership with the Artisan’s guild and look forward to this continuing into the future.”
