Changes to NDIS funding 2022 - 2023
8th July 2022
Dear Parents / Guardians
We are writing today to give you an update on some changes to NDIS funding.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) supplies funding for disability support, and also announces updates to how much they will pay to providers for support every financial year. The NDIA has just announced more funding changes that have come into effect from 1 July 2022.
The most significant change is that the NDIA has increased funding for support that is delivered by support workers by 9% from 1 July 2022. This applies for anyone we support in Home, Work or Community services.
The NDIA has made this increase to cover the rise in the minimum wage and superannuation payments for support workers from 1 July 2022. The NDIA has also increased funding in some instances to cover extra COVID-19 costs and improvements to the way we work to keep the people we support safe.
From mid July 2022 any remaining amount in your NDIS Plan will be automatically increased by the NDIA to cover the increases. The funding increase will be backdated to 1 July 2022.
Endeavour Foundation will apply the new rate for any supports that have been increased by the NDIA, from 1 July 2022. This will ensure we can comply with the minimum wage increase and superannuation rise for our valued support workers and continue to provide a high standard of support to the people we support
This is simply a courtesy letter to explain why the changes have occurred. You do not need to do anything. Because funding will be increased by the NDIA to cover the changes, there will be no impact to the amount of support available in your NDIS plan.
