Move over Splendour in the Grass, Battle of the Bands is coming to the Sunshine Coast!

Don’t miss the local favourites plus many more that will put their talent to the test!

If you are in a band or have a group of friends who like to get up and perform, then Battle of the Bands could be just the event you’ve been waiting for!

Join in with dozens of other bands and showcase your musicality at this celebration of talent and diversity – all in the name of inclusivity.

Our Sunshine Coast event has a full line up of performers already, so come along and enjoy performances as an audience member!

*This event is open to bands who have a majority of the members with disability.

Performer entry requirements

To enter event the performers must be:

  • a band or group.
  • majority of band members have an intellectual disability.
  • nominated as a band member on the registration form prior to the event and by closing date specified above.

Performance style

The event is open to performers in all contemporary styles or genre.

Performance length

  • 8 minutes maximum per band.
  • One song per band.

Band spokesperson

One person for each band to be nominated as a spokesperson to represent the band to accept gifts and give a response speech of no longer than two minutes maximum.

Performance content

Original songs or covers.

Equipment

Bands must supply their own instruments. Bands are responsible for own equipment.

There is a PA & sound technician available. Backing music to be supplied by individual band on USB or CD. Organiser will take no responsibility for damaged, missing or faulty equipment.

Judges critique

Bands will receive a critique and appraisal from judges at the end of the event.

Celebrating technical ability, musicianship, song-writing, stagecraft and audience engagement.

Gifts

Everyone in a band sharing their abilities and talents will receive a gift.
