Your Questions Answered (FAQs)

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provides purpose-built, accessible group homes for people who need higher levels of physical support or specialised design features. These homes include step-free access, adapted bathrooms, assistive technology and safe, comfortable spaces that support daily living.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) funds the support you receive in your home, while Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funds the physical home itself for people with higher support needs. Some people receive both types of funding.

If you would like a simple explanation of how these supports work, you can read our guide to SIL and SDA

We also have SIL vacancies within SDA homes for people who are looking for both support and a place to live.

You may be eligible if you have very high support needs or require an accessible or robust home to live safely and independently. Eligibility is decided by the NDIS. Our team can explain the criteria and help you understand what information may support your application.

Specialist Disability Accommodation is funded through Capital Supports. This funding pays for the home itself. Your daily support is funded separately through Core Supports under Supported Independent Living.

Yes. All Endeavour Foundation Specialist Disability Accommodation homes include Supported Independent Living (SIL) support, so you will need SIL funding in your NDIS plan. Our team can help you understand your plan and what steps to take if you need to request SIL funding.

All homes are designed to help you live more independently, feel safe, move around comfortably and receive the right level of daily support. Our team will help you understand which design category best matches your needs and goals.
