Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Young people may consider community participation, Learning and Lifestyle Hub day programs, employment pathways, work readiness, work experience, social connection, daily living skills and future home and living supports.

The right option will depend on the person’s goals, interests, support needs, funding, location and service availability.

It is helpful to start planning before the final year of school. Years 10 to 12 are a good time to explore goals, interests, NDIS funding, support needs and local service options.

School leavers may need NDIS funding for some supports, such as community participation or learning and lifestyle programs.

Some employment pathways may not require NDIS funding, depending on the person’s goals, eligibility and the type of support they are considering. Our team can explain what may apply to your situation.

This is very common. You do not need to know the exact service before getting in touch. Our team can talk with you about goals, interests, support needs, funding and location to help identify possible pathways.

Yes. Endeavour Foundation offers employment pathways that may help school leavers build confidence, develop work skills and discover meaningful work options.

Suitability will depend on the person’s goals, readiness, eligibility, location and available supports.

Yes. Our Learning and Lifestyle Hub day programs and community supports can help school leavers build skills, take part in activities, connect with others and develop routines after school.

Yes. You can enquire before school finishes to understand what supports may be available and what information may be useful when planning.

Some roles involve supporting participants with complex needs or Positive Behaviour Support Plans. Training and guidance are provided, and you will be matched appropriately based on experience and capability.

Our team will review your enquiry and contact you to learn more about the school leaver’s goals, support needs, location and funding. We will then explain which Endeavour Foundation services may be suitable and what the next steps could look like.

Supported Employment is employment at an Endeavour Foundation social enterprise or similar setting, where people with disability work alongside other employees with disability and receive on-the-job support. Open employment (also called inclusive employment) means working in a mainstream workplace, supported by our team to find the right role and employer. Both are valuable pathways - the right option will depend on your young person's goals, confidence, readiness and support needs. Our team can help you understand which may be the best fit.

A Learning and Lifestyle Hub is a day program where people with disability come together to learn new skills, try new activities and connect with others. Programs are designed around each person's interests and goals - so no two people's experience is the same. Activities can include anything from cooking, art and music to sport, technology and social outings. The focus is on building confidence, independence and a sense of belonging. Talk to our team to find out what is available in your area.

Transport can be a practical consideration when exploring day programs or employment pathways. In some cases, NDIS funding may cover transport support depending on the person's plan and goals. Some programs may also have local transport options available. Our team can discuss what may be possible in your area when we talk about pathway options.
