Disability Support with Purpose
Endeavour Foundation began with a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and belong.
The year was 1951, a time when people with intellectual disability had few rights, limited choices and little to no support. Children with intellectual disability were often excluded from classrooms.
Opportunities for education, employment and community inclusion were scarce, but a small group of Queensland parents refused to accept the status quo.
They dreamt of a different future for their children – one where they could receive an education, learn new skills and participate fully in community life. A future where their children’s potential was not just recognised but celebrated.
They did not wait for change. They created it.
A Spark That Ignited a Movement
What began as a makeshift school on the verandah of a Brisbane home became the foundation of a movement. It was a stand for inclusion, dignity and opportunity. The determination of these parents planted the seeds of what would grow into one of Australia’s most respected disability service providers.
Today, Endeavour Foundation proudly carries that legacy forward. We are one of the country's largest disability service providers and Australia's biggest employer of people with intellectual disability.
Every day, we support people to pursue their goals, live independently and be valued members of their communities.
