The worlds of fashion and golf aren’t usually regarded as ideal bedfellows but they’re working hand-in-hand to play their part in helping the Endeavour Foundation in Toowoomba.
The 2011 Endeavour Foundation Fashion Show was promoted this Friday 18th by the fashion icon, Maree McDonald, at the City Golf Club in South Street. The Club will host the Fashion Show next Wednesday 23rd February (10am-12pm) on the eve of the QPGA Championship.
The Endeavour Foundation is the QPGA’s charity of choice this year and this partnership reflects the long-standing pivotal role which Endeavour plays in the Toowoomba community.
Maree McDonald believes fashion is alive and buzzing in Toowoomba thanks to the great strides made Endeavour, in particular at the Endeavour Recycled Clothing store.
“Recycled clothing is the way forward and is a fantastic way to make your own fashion statement. It’s inexpensive and fun. Also, we’re now getting upcycling which takes pre-loved garments and turns them into something sensational. I love it!”
Next week’s Fashion Show will highlight one-off upcycled clothes designed by Kim Bailey and the latest range of Calvin Klein golf wear. Some of the QPGA golfers will be there, but not necessarily trying on the upcycled clothing! There is a raffle with fabulous prizes.
Entry is by gold coin donation and you can treat yourself to a complementary tea, coffee, and cake.
