Endeavour has presented Toowoomba Cycling Club with cheque for $1,500 to thank them for the opportunity to be charity of choice for the National Road Series FKG Tour of Toowoomba.
The opportunity allowed Endeavour to hold the Endeavour Challenge as an integral part of the National Road Series Event, the charity ride raising over $6,000 to help Endeavour support people with a disability.
150 cyclists from Toowoomba, all over the Darling Downs and as far as Sydney and the Sunshine Coast got behind Endeavour‘s newest community fund-raising event.
Endeavour CEO and Challenge participant David Barbagallo said the FKG Tour of Toowoomba was an event of some importance for the region.
"Toowoomba was an amazing host city for an exceptional event and it was Endeavour‘s privilege to be part of it," said David.
"By donating $1,500 back to the Toowoomba Cycling Club, Endeavour is giving back to a community that has given us dedicated and invaluable support.
"We were also able to assist the club manage the FKG Tour of Toowoomba and to mobilise enough volunteers to make both the Tour and the Challenge first-time successes.
"Many locals braved the cold and wet weather to volunteer as information officers, marshals and rest-stop staff.
"We would also like to thank the local community and businesses and especially our sponsors — The Chronicle, Clive Berghofer, Toowoomba Regional Council, Westfield and Home Ice Cream — for their invaluable support.
"The Chronicle Community Fair in Queen‘s Park at the Endeavour Challenge finish line was a hit with cyclists and their families and the Toowoomba community."
Endeavour's toughest sporting event, The Summer Challenge will be coming through Toowoomba on November 19th – 21st when over 400 runners will complete a 500km relay. For more information visit http://summerchallenge.endeavour.com.au.
