We are celebrating Queensland’s new Human Rights laws after fighting hard for the inclusion of rights to health care and education for all people.
Access to health and education are everyday challenges for people with disability and these rights go back to the very roots of Endeavour Foundation.
Our founding families fought determinedly for education for children with intellectual disability, when they faced exclusion from schools in 1951 – a wrong that was corrected yesterday.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme puts you at the centre of the decision making process about how you want to live your life, your choice of supports and who you would like to deliver your supports.
Previously each state and territory has managed disability support themselves, and the system was underfunded, unfair, fragmented, inefficient and gave people with disability little choice.
The government has set up an agency – the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) – to implement the NDIS, provide a single pool of funding, and run the planning process.
