What is a bequest?
A bequest is a gift made through an individual’s last Will and Testament. It can be in the form of a gift of cash, a percentage of your estate, property or shares, or the residue of your estate.
By making a bequest to Endeavour through your Will, you are giving a significant gift that will make a difference to the lives of people with a disability both now and into the future.
For many supporters of Endeavour, a gift in a Will is the one opportunity to make a gift of such significance that the legacy lives on for many years.
How do I make a bequest to Endeavour?
Step One: You will need to make a Will
Regardless of the size of your estate, it is important that you prepare a Will so that your assets are distributed according to your wishes.
It is recommended that you compile your Will in consultation with your solicitor or legal advisor as it is an important document that requires professional attention.
Step Two: It is important that you use the correct wording
You may like to provide the following wording to the solicitor preparing your will:
“I give and Bequeath the sum of $………. (Or nominate other type of gift) to Endeavour Foundation for the general charitable purposes of the Foundation and I declare that the receipt of the principal Executive Officer of the Foundation at the time of payment be a full and sufficient discharge thereof.”
Step Three: Let us know
If you have already included Endeavour in your Will or plan to in the future, it would be helpful if you could let us know. That way we can keep you up-to-date with Endeavour’s current programs and specific areas that may be of particular interest to you.
