Endeavour a family affair for Tanya

For Tanya Evans, living in a relaxed country town like Kingaroy is the only way to go.
So when Endeavour launched its business service there way back in 1983, Tanya and her family were overjoyed.
Not only did it mean that a whole new world of employment options had opened up for but that she could take advantage of them without leaving the family or the town she loved.
In the quarter of a century since, Tanya has learnt a variety of skills including food handling, weighing and packaging and become skilled with some pretty complicated equipment.
The diverse range of ventures undertaken at the service over the years, now including production of the 'country kitchen' gourmet foods, has kept the work interesting.
She has also been able to earn a modest income to help support herself, make plenty of friends and build her self-confidence.
But the highlight was presenting flowers to local icon Lady Flo Bjelke-Petersen at the service's 25th anniversary - the same as she did at the official opening ceremony.
The business service is a particular source of pride for Tanya, as her grandmother Kathleen was a key player, along with local service clubs, in establishing it.
