Emma's new job
CLUE student Emma White has happily settled in to her new job with the Department of Natural Resources and Water, which began in February 2008 for a 12 month period. Working part-time and getting paid; Emma is achieving her goals of developing office skills in a corporate environment, such as, archiving, filing, assembling training folders, photocopying, packing envelopes and laminating.
A highlight for Emma was in December, when she presented a five-minute speech at the Department of Natural Resources and Water’s Workforce Diversity Forum, where she met the Assistant Director General and other senior management.
Benefiting greatly from the experience, Emma has developed a strong rapport with her team and enjoys the social interaction that working in a stimulating atmosphere creates. Emma cites her “best job” as compiling folders for the staff to use for training purposes.
