Surprise visitor for Endeavour Foundation store in Toowoomba
It’s not every day that the Premier drops in to say “hello” but that’s exactly what happened at the Endeavour Recycled Clothing store in Toowoomba on Saturday. It was business as usual for Endeavour Foundation’s store at 323 Ruthven Street when Anna Bligh decided to pay a visit.
The Endeavour Recycled Clothing store Assistant Manager, Tina Murray, was busy serving customers one minute and then talking to the State Premier the next!
“She was very nice, very pleasant and, although she didn’t have a lot of time, she made the effort to come to see us and spend time here,” Tina said.
“She shook hands with our volunteers and posed for pictures behind the counter.
“It was nice of her to recognise us and I told her that all the support we get is great.
“She knew that we’d been through a lot over the last few months and said how important it is to get people through the doors for such a great cause.
“She’d be welcome here again, that’s for sure.”
Anna Bligh made her surprise appearance at the ERC store after presiding over the bravery awards ceremony in Toowoomba as part of Queensland Week.
Endeavour Foundation is celebrating its 60th birthday this week and, as part of that celebration, all Endeavour Recycled Clothing stores including that in Toowoomba, will hold a 60% off selected items sale from Wednesday 22nd June.
Endeavour Foundation supports more than 3,350 people with a disability throughout Queensland and in Sydney from more than 230 locations.
