Opportunities for people with a disability

Last chance for early bird tickets to Grand Highland Charity Ball
Mark your calendar for Saturday 30th July for the Grand Highland Charity Ball to enjoy all things Scottish and raise money for people with a disability.
Endeavour Foundation Chairman Grant Murdoch, Deputy Chairman Shane Charles and CEO David Barbagallo will partake in the tasting of wee dram and kick up their heels at the event and are encouraging guests to get into the spirit of the event and don kilts.
The ball follows International Tartan Day earlier this month, continuing the celebration of all things Scottish.
Attendees will Walk through the Edinburgh Castle entrance and enjoy a spectacular evening, partake of the haggis (from an 1856 recipe) and wee dram (there are six types of malt whiskies to choose from), a magnificent three course meal with refreshments, socialise at the Scottish Market and take to the floor for some fun dancing.
Entertainment will be world-class, with The Queensland Police Pipes and Drums, Tenorissimo!, The Brisbane Celtic Fiddle Club, Highland and Country dancers and the Royal Australian Artillery Band 1st Field Regiment marching, concert and rock bands.
This landmark charity event raises much needed funds to support people with a disability through Endeavour Foundation. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Endeavour Foundation Endowment Challenge Fund to increase social inclusion for people with a disability, and fund research in disability to improve knowledge and understanding.
The event builds on last year’s inaugural Grand Highland Charity Ball to help celebrate Endeavour Foundation’s 60th anniversary this year.
“This is about raising money to support people with a disability, as well as having a grand night out. Endeavour Foundation is celebrating its 60th anniversary throughout 2011 and the Grand Highland Ball is another high-point of the year,” said Grant.
“It’s a sensational night out, a great chance to meet business people from around Brisbane and beyond, and wear a kilt – what more could you ask?!”
Early bird tickets are available until July 18. To buy tickets visit www.grandhighlandball.com.au or call (07) 3908 7258.
