Winning Christmas Prize Home is a dream come true for Sunshine Coast resident

Winner of an Endeavour Prize Home at Bribie Island, Michelle Norton, takes in her new surroundings. See a larger photo. While most of us unwind from the Christmas and New Year break, Sunshine Coast resident Michelle Norton continues to celebrate by living the life of luxury in her stunning fully-furnished Endeavour Prize Home on Bribie Island.

Michelle won the lavish four-bedroom Endeavour Prize Home, which is valued at $826,254, just in time for Christmas and has held pool parties at the home every week since.

“I had about 20 family members over near Christmas, which was lovely. Then I had about 25 friends over soon after to see my new home,” said Michelle.

“I’m absolutely loving it. It’s fantastic. Winning the Prize Home has changed my life. It’s set me up for life – I don’t have to worry about a mortgage or money now.”

Michelle, who grew up on a macadamia farm at Montville before moving to Maleny, manages a horse gear and clothing store and was at work when Endeavour Foundation called to tell her the good news.

“I didn’t believe it. It just didn’t seem real – so I kept on working,” she said.

“The girls at work were jumping up and down and telling me to go for the day but I kept on working, although my brain wasn’t really in gear.

“I thought about having a drink to celebrate but I was weak at the knees as it was – I felt drunk anyway.”

It didn’t take long for the excitement to take over.

Two days before she was to collect the keys for the Endeavour Prize Home Michelle drove to Bribie Island, parked her ute outside and stood in the ute’s tray in the pouring rain to take photos on her phone to send to her mother who was on holiday.

“I must’ve looked ridiculous – I was standing in the ute tray in the rain, holding a blanket over my head while I took the photos to text mum,” Michelle laughed.

The luxurious Bribie Island Prize Home features four large bedrooms including a lavish master suite with ensuite and access to a covered entertaining area by the in-ground pool, an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with polished boards and cathedral-style high ceilings, a formal lounge area, study nook and sundeck by the pool.

“I don’t go in every draw but as soon as I saw the picture of this Prize Home I knew I wanted a shot at this one,” Michelle said.

Along with winning the Endeavour Prize Home Michelle also won $30,000 for buying multiple tickets in the draw.

“I’m hoping to use that money to go on a holiday, maybe a cruise,” Michelle said.

Michelle is in the process of moving into her Endeavour Prize Home but will continue to work on the Sunshine Coast.

She said she’ll also continue to buy tickets in the Endeavour Prize Home draws and is particularly looking forward to the next draw.

“I bought friends and family tickets in the next Endeavour Prize Home draw as Christmas presents so fingers’ crossed,” she said.

Endeavour Foundation provides accommodation, education and employment opportunities to more than 3,350 people with a disability throughout Queensland and Sydney.

Endeavour’s Prize Home lottery is one of the organisation’s major fundraising initiatives to help raise money to provide services to people with a disability.

The current Endeavour Prize Home is a contemporary fully-furnished home valued at $760,501 located within a new estate surrounded by parks and minutes from the water’s edge at scenic Thornlands, Brisbane bayside.

It boasts four spacious bedrooms including an enormous master suite, a covered alfresco dining area overlooking the courtyard in-ground swimming pool, a study nook, separate media room and sleek open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.
