Virgin Blue RBS Morgans racing team dares amateur cyclists to take the Endeavour Challenge
The Virgin Blue RBS Morgans Cycling Team has dared recreational cyclists to take on the toughest amateur cycling event in south-east Queensland — the Endeavour Challenge.
The Virgin Blue RBS Morgans Cycling Team will be competing against other professional road cycling teams in the National Road Series Tour of Toowoomba event.
An integral part of the NRS event is the Endeavour Challenge on June 27, a testing 100-kilometre ride through the Great Dividing Range open to recreational cyclists.
The Challenge offers riders challenging inclines, dramatic declines and winding switchbacks, including parts of the course being used by the pro teams.
This is the closest most amateur cyclists will come to actually competing against the elite teams like Virgin Blue RBS Morgans.
Virgin Blue RBS Morgans team member Cam Peterson, fresh from winning the Canberra leg of the National Road Series, is looking forward to seeing how the amateurs fare on the Endeavour Challenge course.
“The Challenge will make cyclists push their limits and experience a pro-Tour event but will b fully supported the whole way,” Cam said.
“I would encourage amateur cyclists who reckon they’re pretty hardcore to see how good they really are by taking on the Challenge.”
“It will not only be a test of their cycling prowess, but a great day riding on good quality, low-traffic country roads through the beautiful Great Dividing Range and surrounding countryside."
The Endeavour Challenge is open to all cyclists, but places are limited to ensure entrants get plenty of clear air. Cyclists should visit www.touroftoowoomba.com.au to secure their place.
The Premium Entry includes a 100% merino wool Endeavour Foundation retro jersey, arm warmers, helmet sticker, event bib & wristband, official rider guide, a show bag, and, for those who make it, a finishers’ medal and certificate of completion.
Proceeds from the Endeavour Challenge will be used to support people with a disability.
