Senior citizens mark royal wedding with a fashion parade
You don’t need to go to London to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding tomorrow.
Just ask staff and clients at Spiritus' Kirami Residential Care Home in Hervey Bay.
Spiritus has teamed with Endeavour Foundation to hold a fashion parade so clients of the Kirami retirement village can mark the royal occasion in style.
Kirami clients and their families will admire several wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride outfits and more, all donated by the Endeavour Recycled Clothing store in Hervey Bay.
Spiritus approached Endeavour Recycled Clothing as many Spiritus clients take great interest in royal affairs and are eagerly awaiting the big day.
“We’re delighted to support Spiritus with this momentous and joyful event,” said Endeavour Recycled Clothing Hervey Bay manager Christine Spink.
“The fashion parade will be a great way for Kirami clients to mark the royal wedding. It’s all in the name of fun.”
Kirami staff will model the outfits, walking from the church to the function room.
Clients and families will end the event on a sweet note by sharing a wedding cake made by a Kirami staff member and toasting to the Queen and future happiness of William and Kate, as proposed by Kirami residents.
The outfits being modeled are all available for purchase at Endeavour Recycled Clothing, 160 Boatharbour Drive, Hervey Bay.
Endeavour Recycled Clothing sells quality pre-loved clothing, books, bric-a-brac, toys and more. All proceeds go to Endeavour Foundation’s efforts of supporting 3,350 people with a disability.
