Maleny selected as location for purpose-built Endeavour Prize Home
Maleny has been chosen as the location of Endeavour Foundation’s first purpose-built Prize Home in several years.
Endeavour Foundation is including the construction of a purpose-built home during 2011 – the organisation’s 60th anniversary year – to ensure it offers ticket buyers the alternative of a custom-built home in the most ideal area.
The organisation’s Manager Prize Home Lotteries Wilma Burton said the Sunshine Coast hinterland was the perfect location for Endeavour Foundation to build a home.
“Our Prize Homes on the Sunshine Coast hinterland are often our most popular – who wouldn’t want to win a Prize Home here?” she said.
“Maleny has it all – a peaceful country-style setting in the hinterland just minutes from the vibrant coastline.”
Endeavour Foundation regularly has Prize Homes on the Sunshine Coast. Each home draws international interest and tourism to the area, with 500,000 brochures sent out for each lottery around the world.
The new four-bedroom Prize Home will feature front and back verandahs to make the most of the beautiful hinterland views, a large covered outdoor entertaining area on the rear balcony, an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area and a separate formal living room.
Construction on the home began in August 2010 and it’s expected to be completed mid next year. It will come fully-furnished and will be valued at more than $800,000.
The return to a purpose-built home is part of Endeavour Foundation’s 60th anniversary of supporting people with a disability.
A diverse program of events will be held in communities across Queensland and New South Wales, including the Sunshine Coast, to engage everyone in the celebrations throughout 2011.
Endeavour Foundation’s Prize Home lotteries are part of the organisation’s fundraising program to raise money to support people with a disability.
Endeavour Foundation provides accommodation, education, employment and lifestyle opportunities for more than 3,500 people with a disability, including on the Sunshine Coast.
The organisation’s current Christmas Prize Home is a grand fully-furnished home on Bribie Island valued at $825,254.
It boasts an in-ground pool with adjacent sun deck, covered entertaining area ideal for Christmas lunch, four spacious bedrooms, study nook, separate formal living room and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.
To view the Bribie Island Christmas Prize Home or buy a $10 ticket to be in the draw, visit the Endeavour Prize Homes website. Ticket sales close 10am 15 December.
