Endeavour Business College skills staff to offer the best services
Endeavour Foundation staff are set to become the best-trained in the sector, able to provide the best services to people with a disability, with Endeavour Business College providing them tailor-made training and qualifications.
The College is partnering with the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT) to develop Endeavour-specific training courses in management, business skills, retail operations and disability service provision.
The philosophy is that if Endeavour has the most highly-trained and skilled staff, it will be able to provide the most useful quality services to clients.
The best part is that the $1.6 million initiative will be jointly funded by the Federal Government, the State Government and Endeavour, which will enable the organisation to develop and deliver the training on a cost-neutral basis.
In fact, CEO David Barbagallo said the custom-developed courses will actually generate revenue for Endeavour, which plans to offer them to staff of other service-providers.
“We have been creative in finding a way to provide a better outcome for clients, improve the skills and abilities of staff and at the same time have a positive effect on Endeavour’s financial strength,” David said.
He added this sort of innovative thinking was essential for Endeavour to survive in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
“To be able to provide the best outcomes for our clients, we must make sure our staff members are not just adequately qualified but the best trained and most skilled in the sector,” he said. SCIT Director Ross Hepworth said the TAFE’s partnership with Endeavour was “one of the most fulfilling training relationships created”, in the way it will benefit both staff and clients of Endeavour.
Government funding will come from the Productivity Places Program, which is a joint initiative between the State and Federal governments.
