BDO Brisbane Coot-tha Challenge

Opportunities for people with a disability

BDO Brisbane Coot-tha Challenge Logo2012 Wrap-up

At 5.45am on Sunday the 18th of March, over 1800 cyclists lined up to participate in Bicycle Queensland's gruelling 85km BDO Brisbane Coot-tha Challenge. The torrential rain eased just in time for the start of the event and riders were able to enjoy the sights of Brisbane as they passed through the suburbs. Our congratulations to Correy Edmed who conquered the 2.3km hill climb up Mount Coot-tha in 6 minutes 32 seconds which was the fastest time!

Endeavour Foundation would also like to make a special mention of Simon Lilley, Brad Grant, Mark Syme, Diana Harvey and Jack McCullough who took on the additional challenge of raising funds for Endeavour Foundation. Simon Lilly took out the top prize of 'Highest Fundraiser' winning a $500 Westfield Voucher kindly donated by Westfield Garden City. Brad Grant took out the 'Second Highest Fundraiser' award, winning a $200 dinner voucher kindly donated by The Groove Train restaurant and bar. We would like to thank you both for your outstanding efforts. Together over $2300 was raised which is a fantastic contribution towards our Endeavour, to support people with a disability to lead an ordinary life.

Finally, we would like to sincerely thank the many volunteers who dragged themselves out of bed at 3.00am on a foggy and wet Sunday morning to set-up the course. Your efforts are very much appreciated and this event would simply not have been possible without your support.

We congratulate Bicycle Queensland on staging a fantastic event and for supporting people with a disability.
