Endeavour Foundation to Re-open New Day Service Building after Extensive Renovations
Endeavour Foundation’s Adult Training Support Service (ATSS) building in Townsville has undergone major renovations over the past year and will be officially re-opened on Monday, 3 December to coincide with International Day for People with a Disability.
The building was originally built as accommodation for school children with an intellectual disability, and it was first opened in November 1964.
As part of a review of the Townsville Day Service at Endeavour, it was decided to complete a major renovation of the building to meet the needs of a diverse group of people with a disability now and into the future.
“All of our service users are very excited to be moving into the new building, after seeing such a massive renovation undertaken,” said Endeavour CEO, Mr Kelvin Spiller.
“Endeavour continues to be a major provider of disability services in Townsville and a new Adult Training Support Service building will benefit many people with a disability,” he added.
Endeavour’s ATSS in Townsville provides day support options for 43 people with a disability by facilitating a variety of centre-based activities and community integration.
“Endeavour Foundation’s ATSS in Townsville is the organisation’s largest in Queensland and is open to people with a disability aged from 18 years of age,” said Mr Spiller.
Endeavour’s newly renovated ATSS is located in Landsborough St, North Ward and will be officially re-opened by Mayor Tony Mooney at 11:00am on Monday, 3 December.
