Endeavour Prize Home winners discover Bribie Island

Tasmanians Shayne and Belinda Andrews have been buying Endeavour Prize Home tickets for 10 years.  Last week their number came up, and now they are the overwhelmed owners of a luxurious tropical Bribie Island mansion worth over $760,000.

“I’ve continued the tradition with my own family down in Tasmania.  We read the brochures front to back.  Twice.  And the kids fight over who will get which bedroom.  But of course, you never expect to win.”

Shayne and Belinda, and daughters Samantha, 12, and Kiara, 15, arrived in Bribie on Monday.  Belinda had only been to Bribie once before, over 13 years ago.

“It has certainly changed, but it is still very laid back.  We’ve only been here a day, and we’ve already met the neighbours -  they’re lovely,” said Belinda.

Belinda received her life changing telephone call from Endeavour Prize Home Lottery Manager Wilma Burton on Monday 16 April.

“She told me she was from Endeavour Prize Homes, and before she could say anything else, I told her I’d already got my ticket, thanks” said Belinda.

“Then she told me I’d won the first prize and I didn’t believe her.  I had to ring the number on my ticket to confirm it was all true!  It hasn’t really sunk in yet.  We still feel like we’re staying in an up market hotel.  Reality will probably set in shortly because I have to mop the floors after our family gathering last night.”

The relatives are understandably envious of, and curious about, the Andrews family’s spacious new home.  Belinda’s mother-in-law was discovered inside the pantry checking to see if the light goes off when the door is shut.

“We don’t know what we’re going to do with the home yet,” said Shayne.

“The girls would move up here in an instant if they could.  But I’ve got my job as a fire fighter and Belinda teaches at a special education school down in Tasmania, so it’s a big decision.  We’ve got 12 months of free rates as part of the prize package, so we’ll just enjoy the house as much as we can for now.”

Endeavour’s current Prize Home is located at 338 Main Road, Wellington Point.  It features:

  • stunning views overlooking Moreton Bay
  • two downstairs bedrooms with built-in robes
  • an upstairs ‘Parents Retreat’ with walk-in-robe, ensuite and separate tv room
  • a home office with laptop computer
  • a lounge room with LCD TV and surround sound system
  • and is valued at over $824,000!
You could be the next Shayne and Belinda Andrews if you buy Endeavour Prize Home lottery tickets for just $10.  For more information go to www.endeavourprizehomes.com.au.
