Endeavour service renamed in honour of Eva Mussett

Mackay woman Eva Mussett has been recognised by Endeavour Foundation, which has renamed its local Learning and Lifestyle centre – formerly known as the Kewarra Adult Training and Support Service – in her honour.

Mrs Mussett bequeathed a property to Endeavour to be sold and proceeds used to ensure continued support to people in the Foundation’s services in Mackay.

The Learning and Lifestyle service provides lifestyle opportunities, community access, individual programs and adult learning for 27 people with a disability.

It was recently refurbished with new and enhanced amenities, interior painting and floor covering.
The relocation of the kitchen and the enclosing of the carport, being Grant Number:102732 of $30,000 (ex GST) was proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund in partnership with the Endeavour Foundation.

Eva Mussett Learning and Lifestyle service will be officially dedicated at a community ceremony held in conjunction with the Great Endeavour rally, which will be flagged off from Mackay on 15 July.

The service began life as the Kewarra Special School, and was subsequently donated to Endeavour.

After many alterations over the years involving huge support from families and the community, it eventually became Kewarra Adult Training and Support Service or ATSS.
