Council
Endeavour Council is an important aspect of Endeavour's operation. It is an arena for ongoing review and involvement of stakeholders in the development of guidelines, processes, procedures and policies at Endeavour. Endeavour Council is also a forum for discussion of issues relating to services and support for people with a disability.
Endeavour Council allows the Board of Directors, managers and stakeholders representatives to communicate with each other. Formal meetings of Endeavour Council are held once a year, with delegates representing people with a disability, families, Area Committees, and frontline staff.
Area Committees
Endeavour has eight Area Committees across Queensland, with up to 12 members each.
Endeavour Members, other than current staff or former staff who have been employed by Endeavour within the last 24 months, are eligible for election and appointment to Area Committees.
Area Committees play a direct role in Endeavour’s governance structure. Each Area Committee may nominate one of their members at each annual election of Directors, and they elect Directors to the Endeavour Board.
Area Committees do not play a role in the day-to-day management of Endeavour or its services, but provide feedback on matters of policy and broad service provision. They build and maintain strong community links which are vital to achieving Endeavour’s goals on behalf of people with an intellectual disability.

Local Parent Consultative Groups
Endeavour works with a number of local groups representing families around the state. These groups are not part of the organisation’s formal governance structure, but can have close links to their Area Committee.
Some of the family groups are associated with a specific Endeavour service, while others have a broader interest.
These groups do not play a role in the day-to-day management of Endeavour or its services, but play an important role in providing support to families of people with an intellectual disability who access Endeavour services.
